Alberta Federation of Labour shows solidarity with the Burma Campaign

Members of Burma Watch International and pro-democracy activists in Edmonton will be participating in the Global Union's plan of Action on Burma, sponsored and supported by Alberta Federation of Labour.
In order to strengthen implementation of ILO Burma resolution of June 2000, Burma's issue will be discussed in Alberta Federation of Labour Union's 3rd Buennial Convention, May 3 - 6, 2001. Crowne Plaza - Chateau Lacombe, Edmonton Agenda
Date - Thursday May 3 and Friday May 4, 2001
Time - 9 am to 4 pm
Action plan Speech on "Burma and Forced Labour" - by Dr Khin Saw Win, followed by a rally.

Alberta Federation of Labour Union, together with the National Automobile, Aerospace, Transportation and General Worker's Union of Canada (CAW), called on the Canadian Government to act upon the Conference resolution without delay, beginning with an immediate halt to the activities of all Canadian commercial and economic interests in Burma.
The Canadian Labour Congress would continue to monitor Canadian investment directly or indirectly connected to forced labour in Burma.
