They say you can judge a man by his friends. By inviting the Burmese junta's Prime Minister Thein Sein to his home for a cosy dinner, PM Samak has sent a clear sign to one and all.
It seems to have escaped PM Samak that Thein Sein heads a vicious and violent regime that brutally suppresses its population, denies the country democracy and illegitimately incarcerates the rightful democratic leader. This privilege is unsurprising, however, as PM Samak is already on record as saying the junta are good Buddhists because they meditate.
Am I alone in being appalled by this behaviour? A regime reviled by the civilised world and treated as a pariah is given the "return of the prodigal son" treatment by the man who heads the Thai government!
Perhaps the woefully unsupported Thai film industry might release a new version of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.
