With the discovery of new natural gas fields off western Burma, the junta seems well set to continue to thumb its nose at justice at home and the international community abroad. Why should it compromise such an opportunity for new riches?
By the same token, does that international community not have a new and real opportunity? Denying the junta its markets should be a stick to succeed where other carrots have failed.
